Here are the 3 daily practices that we’re going to use to begin the process of coming back into alignment with our bodies:
- Breath consciously for at least 5 minutes per day. Breath is the one reliable thing that brings us out of our heads and back into the present moment, which is the only place we actually have any power. There are many different breathing methods that can energize you, calm you down, recenter you, etc. A simple one to start with is box breathing. Check out this article to learn more about how to do it and why it’s one of the methods employed by Navy Seals.
- Laugh out loud at least once per day. The key to this one is not needing someone else to make you laugh. Initiate your own laughter, either by thinking of something funny or just laughing out loud for no reason. Like a crazy person. In fact, do it right now just to see what it feels like. Throughout the month, take note of the effect that laughter has on your mood and energetic state.
- Create something every day: This can be simple, and you can even apply it to things you may already be doing by bringing some intention to them. For example, you can make yourself some food while on autopilot or you can be intentional and create a meal. You can create a connection. You can create a moment of stillness or a new dance move. You can create a vibe or a mood by listening to music: put on a certain genre of music and notice what it does to your energy. You will know you are creating something by how empowering it feels.
Note: I would absolutely love to hear all the different things you come up with to create. Please share them with me!
